Controlling a Large-Scale Quantum Computer

Manipulating the state of a large-scale quantum system presents unique challenges in comparison to the few-qubit devices of today's experiments. Error correcting codes, for instance, likely require the control and readout of millions of qubits to establish a useful quantum machine. This talk will present work underway to address many of the technical challenges associated with large-scale quantum hardware, including the development of solutions based on cryogenic electronics and high-frequency switching architectures. Demonstrations using FPGA technology at 4 - Kelvin to manipulate spin qubit devices will be presented.
